Roger Louis Tabin passed away November 2, 2021. His wife, Judith, and parents John and Jane predeceased him. He is survived by his three sons Myles (Debbie) and his children Bree, Erik and Eden; Kent (Valerie) and their children Morgan, Bailey, Sydney and Jordan; Kevin (Lindsay) and their children Calla and Joe; his sisters Elaine, Marcy and Gloria; and brother Ben.
Roger grew up in Invermay, Saskatchewan where he developed lifelong interests in sports, baking, gardening, and farming. His career path took him through southern Saskatchewan, Ontario and finally to Wolseley. A proud resident of Wolseley, Roger instilled in his family a belief in community and service. While in Wolseley, Roger served on many sports committees, as a Town Councilor and proudly led activities for Communities in Bloom.
Roger always put family first supporting his wife’s and boys’ pursuits and interests. Wearing many hats, through the highs and lows, there was never a doubt that Dad was always in their corner. This pride and support carried over to his grandchildren’s interest where Grampa Roger beamed and bragged about any and all, accomplishments – from report cards to pageants, on courts, rinks, and stages.
Roger touched lives by being someone always willing to share a story, a laugh and give more than he received. For those that knew him, he “filled the unforgiving minute, with sixty seconds’ worth of distance run”.
Graveside service was held in the Wolseley Cemetery, Wolseley, Saskatchewan on Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at 11:30 a.m. with Lynette Calfas officiating. A reception for family & friends was held in the Wolseley Town Hall/Opera House following the interment.
