Ruth was born June 8, 1935 and was the youngest of five children. She was born and raised in Wolseley, Saskatchewan and was married to Don Law in May of 1955.
She was predeceased by son Darren “Balskie” Stanley Law; daughter Shelley Jill Parsons; husband Don Law and great-grandson Luka James.
Left to cherish her memory are son Brad (Lorelei) Law; son-in-law Dave Parsons (Sheri Christie); grandchildren: Sara (Malcolm) Vanstone, Sasha (Tony) Brigham, Shyanne (Justin) Inkson and Ellie Ballantyne; great-granddaughters: Autumn Vanstone, Lyla and Livy Inkson; sister Joan Baran and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Ruth was affectionately known to many as “Grannie,” which captures how she nurtured everyone who came into her home, and loved her family and friends tremendously. Cooking, baking, knitting, crosswords, jigsaw puzzles and any type of craft were some of her favourite past times. She would always have a project on the go and often in the winter months would knit mittens for school children in need. When she retired from the Credit Union, Grannie and Papa were able to spend more time at their beloved cabin at Melville Beach on Crooked Lake. She took great pride in spending time with her family at the cabin, including preparing three square meals a day, (plus snacks!); bonfires, playing any game under the sun on the rainy days and always ensuring everyone had enough to eat, occasionally leaving the cabin for the flea market or ice cream treats.
We will remember Grannie by her huge heart, sense of humour, resilience and her joy in creating deliciously rich meals.
A small private family Celebration of Life will be held later in Wolseley, Saskatchewan.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Regina Humane Society, 4900 Parliament Avenue, Regina, SK S4W 0T7.
