

Sylvia was predeceased by her parents Stan and Emilia Paulhus; husband Marcel Chicoine; husband John Carriere; brother Lucien Paulhus and sister Clothilde George.
She is survived by her son Michael Chicoine; granddaughter Deanne (Shayne) Slywka and great-grandchildren Ashlyn and Blake of Regina, Sk; granddaughter Alison (Tyler) Kifferling and great-granddaughter Sylvie of Regina, SK; many in-laws; nieces and nephews.
Sylvia loved her family very much. She was involved in many activities throughout her life, such as the Catholic Women’s League and the Storthoaks Senior Citizens Centre. Sylvia loved to garden and plant and nurture her flowers and spend summer weekends with family and friends at the cottage at Carlyle Lake.
Sylvia was born in Antler, SK and attended the convent in Bellegarde, SK. She married Marcel Chicoine and moved to Storthoaks, SK. Together they owned and operated a successful Heating, Plumbing and Electrical business until Marcel passed in 1982. Sylvia found love again and married John Carriere in 1991. In 1995 they moved from Storthoaks to St. Boniface, MB where they kept busy with their friends, participating in many activities in their apartment complex. They moved to Redvers, Sk to return to their home area after John took ill. After John’s passing in 2002, she remained in Redvers until she moved to Wolseley in 2012 to be closer to her family.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff of the Lakeside Nursing Home in Wolseley, SK.
The funeral mass will be celebrated in St. Anne's R.C. Church, Wolseley, Saskatchewan on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. by Rev. Francis Hengen. A private family interment will take place at a later date.
