He was predeceased by his father Robert Spencer Sr; mother Annette Spencer; brother Henry Spencer and sisters Merna Ashdohonk and Geraldine Ryder.
Leaving to mourn his passing are his sons Gene O’Watch (caregiver) of Carry The Kettle First Nation and Weylon Hotomani of Regina; grandchildren: Tyman Alexson, Tyra O’Watch, Delphine (Mike) and Tyasia Alexson all of Broadview, SK; special nieces Oneisha Alexson and Erin Alexson; nephew Andy Alexson all of Broadview, SK; special nephew Carter Spencer all of Carry The Kettle First Nation and special niece Karen Spencer of Carry The Kettle First Nation. Winston is also survived by Edna Spencer of Carry The Kettle First Nation; Robert Spencer Jr of Indian Head, SK, Janice Schnieder of Regina and numerous nieces and nephews.
Winston worked as a janitor at Carry The Kettle Health Clinic until his retirement where he was well liked and appreciated for his comical attitude. He also enjoyed the home cooked meals Leah Deegan delivered to him on a weekly basis.
The funeral service was held in the chapel of Tubman Funeral Home, Wolseley, SK on Friday, September 17, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. with Donnell and Michelle Thomson and Elder Kurt Ryder officiating. Livestreaming of the service will be available with the link that is posted below. Cremation followed the service with interment in the Middle Cemetery, Carry The Kettle First Nation on Sunday, September 19, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. Lunch will follow the interment in the Carry the Kettle Community Centre.
