Yotin Nikemon Ironstand

February 19, 1997 - July 31, 2011

Yotin passed away tragically on July, 31, 2011 at the age of 14 years. He is survived by his parents Alicia Delorme and Robert Ironstand; his sister Nimit Mistatim Iskwew Ironstand, Yorkton; Grandparents: Owen (Debbie) Delorme, Cowessess First Nation: Lorna Baldhead, Yorkton, Roger Ironstand, Valley River, Manitoba; special aunties: Ella (Mitch) Delorme, Yorkton; Julean (Perry) Wapemoose, Peepeekisis; Brandy Delorme, Cowessess; special uncles: Casey (Colleen) Delorme, Yorkton; Owen Jr. (Shannon) Delorme, Regina; George (Tracy) Delorme, Broadview; Candi (Luke) Cappo, Regina; Gaileen Keewatin Cappo, Vancouver and all his special cousins too numerous to mention and all his kokums, mushums, aunties, uncles and friends. He was predeceased by his great great grandfather Joseph (Shinaby) Wapemoose; great great grandmother Edna Wapemoose (Ashum); great great grandfather Louis Agecoutay; great great grandmother Mary Agecoutay; kokums Mary Ewenin-Godon; Pearl Delorme (Henry); Doreen Papequash (Shingoose); Gloria Ironstand (Shingoose); Collen Kinistino; Jeannie Kinistino, aunties Jessica Wapemoose and Jewel Ewenin; Tracy Shingoose, Elvira Pelletier; mushums: Clinton Kinistino, Harold “Gray” Papequash, Raymond Agecoutay, Norman Godon, Delbert Severight, Nick Wapemoose, Rance Delorme; uncles: George Ewenin, Robin Badger, Christopher Shingoose and cousin Muskwa Awasis Ponace. Yotin was a great kid that was full of life. He was very creative and very smart. Yotin had a way with words. He loved playin games and reading. He also liked writing his own novels and stories. Yotin loved to dance. He cared a lot about his family and friends. He touched so many lives. The family would like to thank St. Mary’s School Staff and students for their support, and also to family and friends in Yorkton and Cowessess. Yotin will be sadly missed and forever remembered in our hearts. A wake will be held on Thursday, August 4, at 4:00 p.m. at the Cowessess Old School Gym. Funeral service will be on Friday, August 5, at 2:00 p.m. at the Gym with Band Elders officiating. Interment at Wapemoose Family Cemetery.
