She was preceded in death by her husband, James Hayes; her parents, Steven and Hildur Rosener; her sister, Donna Johnson; and grandson, Jeffrey Hayes.
She is survived by her 3 children Jeffrey Hayes (Judy); Christopher Hayes (Wendy); and Michelle Vogel (Joseph); 5 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Barb was born and raised in Red Wing, MN and brought up her own family with Jim in the Twin Cities. Barb was proud of her long career working for Children’s and United Hospitals. In her spare time, she cherished and valued the time she spent traveling with Jim and spending time on the river. After Jim’s passing she believed that the eagles she saw flying over the river, was him watching over her. During her later years she found joy in spending time with her former classmates and participating in activities with her many friends and neighbors.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at American Legion Post 47 located at 50 Sibley St, Hastings, MN 55033 from 2-7pm.
