Estherann "Dode" Olsen

Preceded in death by her husband Bill; sisters Betty Worner & Kathy Volker; brothers Leo & Ted Stelten.

Survived by loving children Deb (Mike) Jacobe, Tim (Susie), Jill (Dave) Crowley & Kim Cox; 10 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren.

Dode will be remembered for her warm hospitality, positive outlook & active lifestyle. Born in Minneapolis, she grew up in Wahpeton, ND, where her father operated the local hotel. He introduced her to golf at an early age; golf became a lifelong passion. She studied physical education and biology at the College of St. Catherine, graduating in 1957. She taught on the iron range for a year before relocating to the Twin Cities, where she married Bill in 1959. As the family grew, she stepped away from teaching to raise their 4 children. When the kids got older, she returned to the classroom as a substitute teacher, working in that capacity for the next two decades. After retiring, Dode divided her time between sports, volunteering & traveling with Bill. She was a member of the Women’s League at Keller Golf Course for nearly 50 years. She joined the St. Kate’s Alumnae Dolphins swim team, which performed at their 50th class reunion. She was a hospital volunteer for 25 years, 19 of them at Woodwinds Hospital. She loved her church family and offered her time and talents where she could. She showed her creative side through making greeting cards for family & friends.

Visitation will be Wednesday, August 20, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Wulff Woodbury Funeral Home, 2195 Woodlane Dr., Woodbury, MN 55125. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, August 21, 2025 at 10:30 AM with Visitation one hour prior to service, from 9:30 - 10:30 AM at Church of St. Pascal Baylon, 1757 Conway St. (3rd St. at White Bear Ave.), Saint Paul, MN 55106. Interment Resurrection Cemetery, Mendota Heights.
