John Parnell Boyd

Died on Aug. 10, 2011 in Folsom, CA at the age of 94. Preceded in death by wife of 71 years, Rosemary. Survived by children, Jim, John, Patrick (Debora), Michael, Rosemary (Jacquesne) Jones, Helen, Mary, Kathleen, Charlotte; grandchildren, Michelle (Todd), Sally, Kevin, Aidan, Jacquesne IV (Miranda), Mary Joy, Karin; great-grandchildren, Olive & Maxwell. John had joined his father in the clothing & mercantile business which was named Boyd’s Department Stores in Le Center, MN & Buffalo, MN. Their cornerstone was Langdon, ND. However, WWII split-up the family, they relocated to Zumbrota, MN for 2 yrs., Forest City, IA for 6 yrs., Sandstone, MN for 10 yrs., and Le Center, MN for 26 yrs. John loved most sports and enjoyed involving his children in many of them. He especially loved boxing, he had many amateur fights and a couple of professional fights prior to retiring in order to raise the family. He was a devout catholic, whose inspiration was Our Blessed Mother, John Paul II was his hero and his wife, Rosemary his childhood sweetheart, his confidant and best friend. Mass of Christian Burial took place in Folsom, CA. Interment on Sat., 8/20, 2PM at Resurrection Cemetery, Mendota Heights, MN. Memorials to the Boyd Family, P. O. Box 25070, St. Paul, MN 55125.
