Ann Marie Poliseo-Prendeville was a loving wife, sister, and aunt. She lived a full and content life, dying at the age of 81. She had the biggest heart and was beyond thoughtful and kind, never missing a step in honoring family milestones and never hesitating to help family, friends and strangers.
Ann was born in New York, New York on February 28, 1943, the 2nd generation of Italian immigrants. She was originally a resident of Manhattan, NYC for 20 years and then a resident of Queens, NY for approximately 61 years, where she was a long-term parishioner of St. Sabastian’s Church. She was educated at Our Lady Queen of Angels (Elementary School) and Saint Vincent Ferrer High School in Manhattan, remaining a recurring donor all these years. There, she cultivated a love of history and a keen awareness for civic responsibilities, became a true humanist and volunteered time and resources to numerous charities, including the Veterans of America. Her great love of this Country was influenced by a father who served in WWII and shaped by her grandparents who were Italian immigrants. She was proud to become part of the Graybar Electric family of employees over some 45 years, where she made many valued acquaintances, contributed her expertise where and when needed, and remained connected and loyal to the company well after her retirement.
She had a passion for music that began in the 1950s when rock and roll dominated the soundwaves, but cultivated a great love of opera, and theatre on Broadway. She was a diehard Yankees fan, a passion she exclusively shared with her dad, as other family members are predominantly Mets fans. She became the family-regarded Genealogist, honoring the Poliseo Family in great depth.
She is sincerely loved and missed by her beloved husband of nearly 12 years, John (Jack) V. Prendeville, her siblings Lorraine Meares, Rocco Poliseo, Jim Poliseo and Jane Poliseo-Greenbaum and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Gilda and Nicholas Poliseo and her recently-deceased brother, Joseph Poliseo.
Ann was so loved and will continue to remain in our hearts, thoughts and prayers always.
