Manuel Santiago, 87, of Long Island City, New York, and formerly of Ponce, Puerto Rico. Manuel and his mother Maria arrived to America at the age of 3. Manuel passed away on August 9, 2025. Born on December 31, 1938, to Angelo and Maria Collado, Manuel proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, where he
received a well earned honorable discharge.
Following his military service, he built a successful
career in logistics management with Eagle Electronics until his retirement 31 years later. He was a devoted husband to the late wife of 64 years, Yolanda Santiago, and loving Father of Manuel Santiago Jr., Joyce, Rudy, Nelson and Marvin.
He was also a beloved community presence, affectionately known as “The Coach.” He dedicated countless hours to mentoring and inspiring youth, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew him. His smile and laughter embraced all. Manuel will forever be remembered for his kindness, wisdom, and lifelong commitment to service. He is now eternally united with his one true love, Yolanda.
