

Margaret S. O’Connell (nee Sullivan) 73, of Long Island City, New York passed away Monday, January 11, 2016. She was born in the Bronx, New York, on February 16, 1942 to Thomas and Nora Sullivan (nee Ryan). Margaret was a partner in the firm of Costello, Shea & Gaffney, LLP of New York (retired). She was a graduate of St. Clare’s Hospital School of Nursing, r.n., 1962; Jersey City State College, B.A., cum laude 1973; St. John’s University School of Law, J.D., 1983. Margaret was a member of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York (Member, Medical Malpractice Committee , 1997-2000; Member, Board of Trustees, Society of Medical Jurisprudence); New York State and American Bar Association; American Association of Nurse Attorneys. She fought on the side of truth and justice.
She is predeceased by her husband Anthony F. O'Connell survived by her loving daughters Noreen O’Connell, Joan O’Connell Bohan and Alison O’Connell, sons in law Christopher O’Rourke and Liam Bohan and cherished grandchildren Caitlinn, Liam Jr., Brendan and Aidan.
Reposing at Thomas M. Quinn & Sons F.H., 35-20 Broadway, L.I.C, until Fri, 9:00am. Funeral Mass St. Rita’s RC Church at 10:00am. Interment St. Charles Cemetery. Visiting hours Wed & Thurs 2-5 and 7-9
