So sad to hear of the passing of my cousin, Robbie.  He managed to pack a lot of living into his short time here and left an indelible impression on everyone he met.  I remember dancing with him at my brother's wedding when he was just a little boy and then watching him dance professionally years later.  He embraced life with zest, passion and creativity.  May he rest in peace.

Hearing of Rob's passing makes me realize how short life is. Rob lived an adventurous life full of hidden accomplishments. He was able to extend himself in prayerful support of others; something it takes other's more than one lifetime to learn. Rob was an artistic genius and I am glad I have at least one of his drawings. I will never forget Rob O'Brien. A wonderful man who left us too soon.

Rob fell in love with art at an early age, he always seemed to be tuned into a slightly different radio station than everyone else.  He was sensitive and sweet and drew what he could not read or write well.  Rob used his artistic gift throughout his life to express emotion, to help deal with anger, cancer, love, lust or just transport him to one of the beautiful places he had visited.  Anyone who has paged through one of his sketch books has had the honor of looking into his soul (and probably seeing some other interesting things).
Robby's life was a roller-coaster.  He experienced so much in a relatively small amount of time. He summited Mt. Washington by age 8 (in our parents car), jumped of cliffs in North Sandwich, he hiked volcanoes in Hawaii, scuba-dived in Malasia, rode an elephant in India, sky dived in New Jersey, pet a tiger in Cambodia.  Rob collected tea pots for me on his journeys.  He carefully wrapped and packed these tiny objects and carried them to me from China, Laos and Vietnam.  
In the prime of Robby's life he was in great physical condition achieving the best abs in the O'Brien family and possibly all of South Beach Miami.  Had he not been in such great shape he probably would not have been able to beat the cancer that entered his life during his early thirties.
My brother was brave and strong and stubborn.  He survived leukemia and the harrows of a bone marrow transplant without complaint and walked me down the aisle on my wedding day.  He was always grateful for his life and his family and friends and their support. He loved his Mom most of all, he called her every day to tell her.
Roberts remains will be placed next to my fathers and our other family members in a beautiful, ancient grave yard on Vittum Hill in New Hampshire this summer.  It's a lovely place to rest and visit.  Robby was a kind soul and always meant well.  We loved him very much and will miss him forever.       -Suzy

Robby's passing has left the world a shade less bright. Heaven is certainly going to be a more creative, lively and colourful place with Robby there.  Watch out Angels!
