He is also survived by his sisters Theresa Gavin and Veronica Buckley, and many beloved nieces and nephews. Tom was born on December 16th, 1931 in Brooklyn to John and Mary Connolly. He graduated from William C Bryant High School in Astoria. In 1955, he married the love of his life, Helen O'Leary. They raised 5 children in their Astoria home. In 1964, Tom went on to work for Pan Am airlines, and with Helen and kids in tow, traveled the world. Together, they would visit six continents and sail on over 50 cruises in their lifetimes.
Tom loved being a husband, brother, father, grandfather, and good neighbor. He generously gave to all in need, often missing a meal to drive a stranger home or help with their groceries. So many have been touched by Tom's kindness, all over the world. As he was more recently touched by the kindness of his care givers: Shota, Eka and Grisele. In his later years Tom encouraged all who would listen to Eat, Drink and Be Merry.

May he rest in Peace
