Wilfred, affectionately known as "Sonny", grew up in Manhattan, Queens and Uniondale, Long Island. He attended Lawrence Road Middle School and Uniondale High school. After high school he attained a CDL license, driving tractor trailers on the east coast. He loved cooking! He was employed as a cook in many restaurants. He didn't mind sharing his "secret recipes" with family members. He enjoyed playing handball, baseball, and basketball but his most enjoyable moments were the ones he spent with his children.
Sonny met Toi, and from this union, four beautiful children were born: David, Eric, Angelis, and Ninya. He truly loved each of his children with all his heart. He was a loving and affectionate father to them. He preached to his children but never judged them. He also loved Kyra with whom he shared a loving relationship for several years. Sonny was loyal to his family and protective of his sisters. Sonny truly loved his mother. He didn't mind being viewed as a "mama's boy".
Sonny was witty and funny. He had such an unforgettable personality that kept you laughing. He was a talker! He was known to answer a question with another question. He was philosophical, always asking "why". He was very intelligent and bright, although some choices he made in life were not always for the best; he admitted his mistakes and encouraged others to learn from them.
