A lifelong New Yorker, William “Bill” Richard Cline was born in Astoria, Queens on November 7, 1951 to Rena and Joseph Cline, who predeceased him in 2003 and 1962, respectively. Bill enjoyed a three-decade career in the healthcare industry, having served countless patients as a radiologic technologist. He was loved and cherished by his friends and colleagues, who he often regaled with his quick humor.
As a young man, Bill’s interests were eclectic, ranging from music and photography to chemistry and aviation. For much of his life, he enjoyed cycling in the summer and skiing in the winter. He enjoyed most of his adventures alongside his lifelong friend, Mark, whose children lovingly referred to him as "Uncle Billy." In midlife, Bill’s favorite moments were spent with his family on a farm belonging to his brother, John, who predeceased him in 2012. He was a loving father who treasured his time with his children. In his later years, Bill was at his happiest when he was visiting with his granddaughters, Mabel and Emma. He passed away peacefully on January 1, 2025.
Bill is survived by his three children, Caitlin, Liam, and Jaclyn; their spouses, Max, Jen, and Garrett; and granddaughters, Mabel and Emma. He is also survived by his brothers, Joe and Frank; their wives, Linda and Barbara; his sister, Rosemarie; and several nieces and nephews.
