Barbara Delay Byrd

Barbara DeLay Byrd age 82 of Woodstock, GA passed away Saturday, June 18, 2016. Barbara worked as a medical technologist at the VA hospital and at the Medical College of Georgia both in Augusta, GA. She enjoyed gardening and playing the piano. She was a lifelong Southern Baptist and member of The First Baptist Church of Augusta. Viewing and visitation will be 11:30am Saturday, June 25, 2016 at The Woodstock Funeral Home, 8855 Main Street. The service will be at 1:00pm also at The Woodstock Funeral Home. The Reverend Theresa Pendley Coleman, Mrs. Byrd’s niece will officiate. The gravesite service will be at The Landmark Baptist Cemetery on Marble Quarry Road in Holly Springs. Mrs. Byrd was preceded in death by her husband Creed Clifford Byrd on December 3, 2000. Mrs. Byrd is survived by her only child Beverly Byrd Olsen and her son-in-law August Albert Olsen. She is also survived by her nieces Reverend Theresa Coleman and Amy Darby; her nephew Joshua Darby and two nieces Kate Coleman and Lauren Coleman. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Friends to the Forlorn Pitbull Rescue.org and/or Our Pal’s Place.net.
