Linda & Debbie, reflecting on your mother's passing has brought up some very fond memories for me. I love how your folks always made me feel welcome in their home -- especially since I was there so much! I loved those Saturdays when I spent the night and we popped popcorn and watched (and danced to) Lawrence Welk. I remember with great fondness those darling matching outfits your mama made for us for our trip to Garner. She was quite talented in that direction and never seemed to let her disabilities stop her from doing those things. 

I remember how she insisted we take little sister along with us when we went places. :) Don't take offense, DD. You know how it is when you're a teenager and think you own the world! And who knew what a lovely, intelligent woman you'd become? 

I remember taking trips with your family. Your mother and I always liked stopping to take in the vistas, which seemed to irk the impatient one waiting in the car (not naming names). Garner, Wichita Falls, Possum Kingdom Lake, Henderson -- such good times. If my parents were here, they'd probably be thanking John & Dee for taking me off their hands for a while. LOL! 

Anyway, it's been a great trip down memory lane, but I do not forget that it was prompted by the passing of someone who seemed like another mother to me as I was growing up. Knowing she knew the Lord is such a comfort, as I'm assured I'll see her again -- ungnarled hands, bright eyes, and all!
