I will miss you Catherine, it was so much fun working with you. And your friendship meant even more.

Gigi It was an exceptional experience to have known you. I consider myself and my family blessed for every moment we got to spend with you.

I miss my "speedy" more than words can describe. I always called her speedy because she wasn't the fastest person.. All out of love and laughs. She thought it was funny too. Ha ha. Where can I even begin? Thank you for the countless stories, advice, and showing me how to love the life I live no matter what. I loved all the stories I heard about your life and how you were just thankful and grateful for your family. Family meant the world to you. I remember the time when we were in the car and speedy got so upset with me because I was twirling my hair in front of her. She told me she needed to see the road and I needed to stop twirling my hair. I asked her "why?" And she said it was because she needed to see the road that she wasn't even driving on. Ha Ha. She was  always cracking jokes and having a good time. I remember the few times I caught her eating cookies when she  probably wasn't even supposed to be having them. She sure loved her sweets! I am telling these memories because they make me laugh and smile. She was always so free spirited and always wanting to look at the positive, so I am trying to do the same. Though, I thought we were all doing our best to prepare for seeing her go. It is still just as hard no matter how many times we told her it was "ok" to go. I know she is so happy to be with her family and in the place I feel like she has been having visions of for a while. It must be so beautiful in Heaven. Fly high Angel. I love you Speedy!

From burying her parents, siblings, children and a grandchild.. Grandma saw more than her fair share of heartbreaks and troubles in her 96 years. If I could tell you someone who was brave, courageous and always loving, it would be her. As a child, you believe everything your grandparent tells you. And we all know what a fireball she was so I'll let your imagination wonder of all the things I believed. Also as a child, grandma did everything she could to help us or anyone she loved. When we figured out about her Alzheimer's I did everything I could to learn more about it and help support the cause. After all she has done for me, it was the least I could do. And in this family, nobody struggles alone, no matter what the circumstances are. She was courageous in choosing to live when her body didn't have much life to offer. To me personally, Alzheimer's is a lot like death in slow motion. However, in the midst of heartache, I learned the small glimmer of light that exist to remind us of the things that Alzheimer's cannot take away.. warmth of a touch, importance of smiles and laugher, and the knowledge of what it truly means to experience unconditional love and acceptance. Grandma's heart beat a rhythm of goodness. She was sweet and I knew she loved me way more than I deserved. We mentally tried to prepare ourselves for when she finally decided to stop fighting. When she took her very last breath at 96 years old, it still took me by surprise. I guess I thought she was too strong to die. And as tears fall faster than I can wipe them away, i'll never forger the perfect moments we spent together, even if she would forget them all. Grandma, I'll see you again, and in a twin size bed I will share plenty of secrets I'm keeping warm for when we meet again. I know we told you it was ok to go and that we would be ok, I'm not sure I will find that "ok" spot and I know it will take time, but things will never be the same without you. I know you are bringing all of those Angels in that house up there to laughter with the stories you have waited to tell. Like George Jones sang, "You stood in the shadows so others could shine, you loved a lot in your time." I love you, and in my heart, there will always be a place for you.
