Donna Hampton Terry

Donna Hampton Terry, age 69, of Acworth, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, September 22, 2018.

Donna was born to the late Scott C. Hampton and the late Beatrice Florence Self Hampton on October 8, 1948 in Rome, Georgia. She was one of two children and spent over 20 years in Floyd County. She later met and married the love of her life, James Oscar Terry. The couple had four children and their family later grew to include five grandchildren and many beloved in laws.

Donna had a fiery personality and had a great sense of humor. She often spoke her mind and wasn’t afraid to wear her emotions on her sleeves. She enjoyed bringing smiles to others at the spur of the moment and often while making up songs while playing her guitar. Many lovingly referred to Donna as “a mess.”

Donna was very giving and would do anything for others. She enjoyed collecting owls, being a savvy shopper and reading magazines. More than anything, she loved her family and the Lord. She was a beloved sister of the Acworth Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Donna is preceded in death by her daughter, Robin Bates; parents, Scott and Florence Hampton; and brother in law, John Rawlins.

Her memory will be cherished by her husband of 50 years, James “J.O.” Terry of Acworth, Georgia; children, April Willer, Amber Hite (David) and Scott Terry all of Acworth, Georgia; sister, Linda Rawlins of Clarkston, Georgia; grandchildren, Joey Robish of Acworth, Georgia, Caitlin Cline (James) of Illinois, Alexis Willer of Acworth, Georgia and Jacob and Luke Hite both of Acworth, Georgia; and her cousins, Susan Poole Botelho of Rhode Island and William McGee (Rose) of South Carolina.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 27, 2018 from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm at Woodstock Funeral Home 8855 Main Street Woodstock, Georgia 30188. Services will follow at 3:00 pm in the Reece Memorial Chapel with Elder Eston Bullock officiating.
