Mrs. Dorothy Collier, 85, of Woodstock, GA passed away peacefully in her home on September 28, 2019. Dorothy was born on June 2, 1934 in East Point, GA to the late Fred and Geraldine Hyatt. She graduated from Russell High School and was a life-long learner. She was an executive secretary for Ernst & Young Accounting Group and a real estate agent. She was active in many groups and had more friends than you could count, but for her, it was always family first. Dorothy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt to many nieces and nephews. As an artist, she was able to create special keepsakes for her family to treasure for generations to come, to include handmade stockings, handmade quilts, and paintings. Dorothy was an inspiration to her family and many friends, beating cancer twice and finding time to volunteer. Some of her volunteer work included spreading hope through the oncology center at Kennestone Hospital and with their Support Services Department. Never one to sit still, Dorothy was a member of many groups, some of which include the Red Hat Society, Newcomers Club, and the Book Club. She also enjoyed playing bridge, rummy cube, pinochle and traveling around the world with her many friends. The love and legacy left behind by Dorothy cannot be put into words. Left behind to cherish her memory are her children, Glenda Sue Fitzgerald, James Christopher Collier (Jennie) and Michael Keith Collier (Karen); grandchildren, Miranda Negrelli, Erin Harper, Timothy Fitzgerald-Boyd, Daniel Fitzgerald, Kaelyn Collier and Will Collier; great-grandchildren, Logan Negrelli, Olivia Negrelli, Ethan Harper, Collin Harper and Madison Harper; brothers, Richard Fred Hyatt, Walter Stanley Hyatt and Ted Dennis Hyatt; sisters, Elsie June Chandler, Carolyn Sue Woods and Mary Ann Ingles; step-children, Donna Collier and Sharron Mosley; and former husband, Ronald Glen Richards. She was preceded in death by husband, James Witt Collier and brothers, Harry Glen Hyatt, James Edward Hyatt and Charles Allen Hyatt. There will be a memorial service on Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at 1:00pm at Heritage Presbyterian Church, 5323 Bells Ferry Rd, Acworth, GA 30102.
