Estelle Thompson Ellis

Estelle (Stell) was born on June 22, 1912 in Hall County, Murrayville, Georgia. She was the last of 12 siblings of Gordon G. and Elizabeth Robertson Thompson of Murrayville.

Stell Ellis was married to the late Smith Ellis. She attended Brenau Academy in Gainesville. She and her husband operated Ellis and Gaddy Plumbing Company in Chamblee, Georgia for 10 years before moving to Toccoa, Georgia.

Stell spent her last nine years residing with her friends and the caring staff members at Savannah Grand Assisted Living in Woodstock and The Canton Nursing Center in Canton.

Mrs. Ellis had no biological children but is survived by many nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She loved every child and spoiled them all. The nephews and nieces’ favorite saying “If Mom Says No, Ask Aunt Stell.”

The family will receive friends at Woodstock Funeral Home from 1-2 P.M. on Saturday, May 12, 2012. Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Saturday following the visitation. Burial will follow in the Yellow Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Murrayville, GA at 5 P.M. Saturday May 12, 2012 with Woodstock Funeral Home directing.
