Ira Ben Hamby III

A Celebration of Life service will be held 3 P.M. Sunday, September 18, 2011 at Little River United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bill Coady officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Woodstock Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be held from 6 to 9 P.M. at the funeral home Saturday September 17, 2011. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Youth Department at Little River United Methodist Church, 12455 Highway 92 Woodstock, GA 30188.

Mr. Hamby was born October 8, 1958 to Ira Ben Jr. and Laura W. Fuller Hamby in Rockwood, TN. Mr. Hamby has been a teacher with the Cherokee County Board of Education since 1991 at Dean Rusk Middle School.

Survivors include his wife, Debbie Hamby, Acworth, GA, one daughter, Hannah Hamby, Athens, GA, one son, Paul (Ali) Hamby, Kennesaw, GA, two sisters, Linda (David) Pope, Roswell, GA, Karen (Bob) Horne, Saginaw, TX, two brothers, Bill (Sharon) Hamby, Canton, GA, Tom Hamby, Acworth, GA, mother-in-law, Betty Welch, Augusta, GA, sister-in-law, Becky Welch, Canton, GA, brother-in-law, Wesley Welch, Buford GA, David (Carmen) Welch, Augusta, GA, several nieces and nephews.
