Jan M. Sorenson Hendrix

Jan was born in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Max and Winnie Sorenson. After graduating from Hurley Hospital School of Nursing, she served in the U.S. Air Force, where she met her husband, Rick Hendrix. She and Rick served as missionaries in Costa Rica, Spain and South Africa. Upon their return to the US, Jan resumed her career as a nurse.

She is survived by her loving husband, Rick Hendrix, daughters Jamie Hendrix and Jennifer McCabe, Son-in-law Ryan McCabe, and six brothers and sisters. Jan will be missed by her large number of extended family and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held Friday, December 3, 2010 at 2 pm in the Woodstock Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Ken Reid officiating The family will receive friends December 3, 2010 from 12 until 2pm at the Woodstock Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, Missouri on December 9, 2010. In Lieu of Flowers Jan requested that donations be made to the support fundraising efforts for Stephen and Lesley Maginas. Stephen and Lesley will be serving with Mission to the World and Reformed University Fellowship in Greece.
