Known for her servants’ heart and desire to put others’ needs before her own, Jana was caring, loving, and always saw and desired the best in others — especially her children.
Jana was born August 31, 1960 in Greenville, Texas. She was the daughter of the late Dr. Roscoe Harrison Brewer, Jr. and Margaret Deanne Brewer.
For 33 years Jana served alongside her husband, Phil, in ministry. She was a devoted servant of Christ, who was committed to reaching the unreached with the Gospel. Over the years, she served the local church as a Children’s Ministry Director, Women’s Ministry Director, Small Group Leader, Worship Leader, and Executive Assistant.
Her service in worldwide missions included serving as a Missionary in Guatemala, the Administrative Coordinator for EPIC International, and Donor Relations Coordinator of SOW International and Bibles-4-Children. Most recently, she served as the Missions Logistics Coordinator for the First Baptist Church of Woodstock.
As a health and wellness educator and Sales Coordinator with the Juice Plus Company, Jana was also passionate about inspiring healthy living.
Of the many roles in which Jana served, she was first and foremost a dedicated and loving wife, mother, and soon-to-be grandmother. She was deeply devoted to serving with her husband and helping her family live for, and serve, the Lord Jesus Christ.
No one could deny Jana’s wonderful ability to cook. Most of her friends can tell you their favorite dish she prepared with excellence. It was her way of bringing friends and family together. There was always a place at Jana’s table for anyone.
In addition to her husband, Phil, Jana is survived by her sons Tyler and Casey; daughter and son-in-law Kristen and Blake; a grandchild on the way; her mother Margaret; brothers Paul and Mark; and sister Jamie.
She is preceded in death by her father, Roscoe.
Jana will be remembered for the people she touched with her loving heart and generous spirit.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at 3:00pm at First Baptist Church Woodstock, Pastor Johnny Hunt will officiate. The family will receive friends 2 hours prior to service at the church.
