Dear Susan,
I happen to be with my son Nathan (the youngest one) if you remember him, at a power lifting competition. On the way home I started thinking of you and Sims, and decided to search if you were perhaps on Facebook, only to happen upon the obituary of Sims. Even if we are thousands of miles away back here in South Africa, how can we ever forget your kindness to a missionary family to your country. When we needed a car, you gave one of yours, and the times we spent together was extremely special to us, and the Sunday lunches with the folk living with you all, made our weekend so much fuller. The one thing I know, both you and Sims touched many lives, and we learned so much from the two of you, and for this you cemented a special place in our hearts.  I know it is 6 years after the fact, but it is never too late to say hello to a dear friend, and remember fondly one now gone.

Growing up with you on Dellwood Drive is one of the fondest memories of my life.  You and Sims had such a wonderful and meaningful marriage. We grieve with you over your loss.

I'm so glad that I met you & was so blessed to hear your words of wisdom.  I learned so much from Sims & he so often made me laugh.  I will so miss him.

So sorry to hear of the passing of Sims. Although I had only met him a handful of times, he left a lasting impression! My heartfelt prayers for his family and friends. He was such an inspiration and he will be missed.

A wonderful man who was loved by many and will be greatly missed.  Thank you Sims for everything.

There are certain people that you meet in life that are true inspirations. Sims definitely falls into this category for me. I met him at a crucial time in my life and he helped me with unconditional love and support.

Everyone who met him was a better person for it.  I will carry my Sims"ism" wisdom with me forever. Rest In Peace.

Sim's spirit lives on forever.  Rest in peace my friend.

Sims Maddox opened his home to me when I had nowhere to go; he mentored me, loved me, and made sure I got everything I needed to begin a life of service.  There are no words to express my sorrow nor my gratitude for everything he did for me and meant to me.  May God provide all the comfort and peace his family needs at this time.
