

Mrs. McMahon grew up in Gadsden, Alabama and went to Gaston School. After graduation she went to the University of Alabama, majoring in Nursing. She later obtained her Master of Nursing degree and worked as a Psychiatric Teaching Nurse for Gadsden State Junior College.
She started in archery in the '70s and was the co-owner of Bowland in Alabama City. She began her ministry in 1976 and received her minister license from United Christian Church in Cleveland, Tennessee. She served two years as assistant chaplain at Elmore prison in Alabama. In the '80s, she became a member of the Gadsden Running Club and ran two marathons in Birmingham and carried the Olympic Torch in Fort Payne. In the '90s, she and her husband started a clown ministry known as “Clowns for Jesus”. In 2010 she moved to Marietta, Georgia, to be near her older brother, Steve Morton. In Georgia she held various nursing positions including home health and several nursing facilities.
She is preceded in death by her husband, George Howard McMahon; mother, Ruby Joe Morton; and Father, Ralph Howard Morton.
Mrs. McMahon is survived by her, older brother Steve Morton; sister-in-law, Mary Kathryn Morton; niece, Kayt Morton and younger brother, Joey Morton and wife Barbara Morton.
The service will be Thursday May 21, 2026, at 11:00 am, in the Chapel of Roswell First Baptist Church, 710 Mimosa Blvd, Roswell, GA 30075. Burial will be at Rainbow Memorial Gardens in Gadsden, Alabama.
