

Marydel was a talented artist who sculpted and painted the world from her eyes. She had showcased her artwork at several galleries and had won prizes from the Atlanta Botanical Gardens, Coca-Cola and Kennesaw University. She later taught art to others and continued creating master pieces in other forms including sewing, hair styling, knitting, and gardening.
Marydel was also blessed with a love of music. She had the gift of song and enjoyed playing her guitar as well as playing on the piano. Marydel had a close relationship with Jesus and deeply loved her family.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Robert Daniel Ward Sr.; daughter, Elizabeth Dell Callahan; sister, Lynda Mabry; and mother, Gladys Ritchey. She leaves behind her partner of 10 years, John Brennan of Woodstock; daughters, Marjorie Ward Woodall and her husband, Troy Robert Woodall, of St. Petersburg, FL and Mary Ellen Woodall of Woodstock; brother, John Ritchey of Rome; sisters, Ellen Ritchey and her husband, Roger Vogel, of Athens; grandchildren, Rebekah, Ashley, Justin, Ashley, Trent, Waylon and Daniel; great-grandchildren, Allorah, Ciara, Hayden, Layla, Madison, Riley and Harper; and her best friend, Charlee Renfro and her husband, Will Renfro, of Woodstock to cherish her memory.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at Woodstock Funeral Home in Woodstock. Celebration of Life Services will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday in Woodstock's Reece Memorial Chapel with Rev. Billy Moss officiating. Committal Services will follow at Rolling Hills Memorial Gardens in Acworth.
The family asks to send green plants in lieu of flowers.
