Thelma Lee Arnold-Hines was born on February 3, 1948 to the late Lee Guster and Annie Mae Arnold in Bashi, Alabama. She attended Pine Apple High School in Pine Apple, Alabama. Thelma was introduced to Christ by her parents at an early age.
Thelma met and married the late Albert Hines, Sr. (a Military man) on July 23, 1965 in Pine Apple, Alabama. After Albert’s tour of duty in Vietnam, he returned and moved his family to Columbus, Georgia. To this union they were blessed with four children.
Thelma was a very devout Christian. After accepting her call to the ministry, she always took advantage of the opportunity to witness to others about the goodness of the Lord. She taught and preached in many churches in Columbus, Georgia. When someone needed prayer, you could always call on her to go before the Lord in prayer for healing and deliverance. She spent countless hours reading and studying her Bible so that she would be equipped to minister God’s Word.
She had a passion for writing. She wrote and published a book entitled; “Poems, Songs, and Wisdom from Jesus”.
Thelma departed this life on Friday, February 19, 2021.
Thelma was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years Albert Hines, Sr., daughter Angela Hines, mother Annie Mae Arnold-Bonner, her father Lee Guster Arnold, Sr.; four brothers Milton Arnold, Sr., Tommie Arnold, Hosea Arnold and Daniel Arnold-Bonner; two sisters Ruth ArnoldHudson and Clara Arnold-Stallworth. She will be lovingly remembered by her three sons: Albert Hines, Jr., Rancho Cordova, CA, Phillip Hines (Audrey) of Stockbridge, Georgia, and Stephen Hines (Camille) of Woodstock, Georgia; a sister Ella Arnold, Rancho Cordova, CA; four brothers: Lee Guster Arnold, Jr., Massillon, Ohio, Moses Arnold, Furman, Alabama; Prince Arnold (Earlene), Oak Hill, Alabama; and Larry Arnold (Diane), Mobile, Alabama; a devoted nephew, Lorenzo Rease of Gulf Shores, Alabama; and a devoted niece, Charlotte Coleman, Rancho Cordova, CA; five grandchildren, Marcelus, Alexis, Alona, Gabriel and Ava. She will also be missed by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
