Tony Whitehead

Born on August 17, 1942, in Laurel, Mississippi, he was the son of Earnest W. Whitehead and Verda Landrum. Tony grew up in Jackson, Mississippi, and later attended the University of Alabama, where he laid the foundation for a life full of diverse interests and achievements.

Tony was a man of many passions, with photography, especially capturing the beauty of waterfalls, being one of his most cherished hobbies. His love for photography allowed him to see and share the world’s natural beauty, and it was something that brought him great joy throughout his life. In addition to photography, Tony was an avid traveler, always seeking new experiences and places to explore.

Professionally, Tony worked in industrial sales, where his knowledge and dedication earned him the respect of his colleagues and clients alike. Throughout his career, he valued integrity, hard work, and the relationships he built along the way.

A longtime member of Mountain View Global Methodist Church, Tony found community and strength in his faith. He was a man of quiet strength and humility, always ready to lend a helping hand or offer a word of encouragement.

Tony was preceded in death by his parents, Earnest and Verda. He is survived by his wife, Ellen, and his loving family and many friends, all of whom will miss his warm heart, kind spirit, and dedication to those he loved.

A service to celebrate Tony’s life will be Saturday, May 17, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Mountain View Global Methodist Church, 2300 Jamerson Road Marietta, GA 30066.
