

Zelotes Daniel Grubbs, Jr. (Dan), 63, of Canton, Georgia formerly of Dothan, Alabama, passed away on June 27, 2016 in the town of Canton. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 1, 2016 at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia with precession leaving Woodstock Funeral Home at 9:15 with Rev. Banks Brazell officiating. Dan was born in Pascagoula, Mississippi to Zelotes (Danny) and Jacqueline (Jackie) Grubbs on October 8th, 1954. He went to school in Pascagoula and graduated from Pascagoula High School in 1970. He married Sandra Stevens on June 4, 1977 in Pascagoula at Eastlawn Baptist Church. For 30 years, he worked for Southern Company’s Farley Nuclear Plant in Ashford, Alabama as a Senior Health Physics Technician. He was a veteran in the United States Army who served in Germany. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, watching Alabama football, movies and listening to vinyl records. He was an avid craftsman, lover of classic cars and was a devout follower of his Christian faith. Dan is preceded in death by his infant son Nicholas Daniel Grubbs and his parents, Danny and Jackie Grubbs. He is survived by his wife, Sandra Stevens Grubbs, children Jason Grubbs (Melissa), Lindsey Grubbs (John), sister Pam Conroy and grandchildren, Claire and Christian Grubbs. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. A Funeral Service at Georgia National Cemetery will be held on July 1st, 2016 at 10am. Memorial for friends and family will be held at 4 p.m. at Friday, July 8, 2016 at Sunset Memorial Park in Dothan, Alabama. Floral arrangements may be sent to Sunset Memorial Park.
