Barbara ‘Bobby’ Louise (Lovegrove) Schulz, age 88, of Westerville, Ohio, passed peacefully with her husband and children by her side on Saturday, April 30th. She was born on November 30, 1933, to the late Lawrence and Louise Lovegrove in Waynesboro, Virginia. She was preceded in death by her older brother, C. Richard Lovegrove.
Barbara was a graduate of Fairfax Hall Junior College and Richmond Professional Institute, with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree.
Barbara and her husband, Richard P. Schulz, were married on September 24, 1961, and moved to Schenectady, New York, where he was an engineer at General Electric. She was an active member of Union Presbyterian Church, where she and Richard had many friends. They moved to Westerville, Ohio, in 1987 when Richard began work for American Electric Power. They joined St. Andrew's Church, where Barbara and Richard were again of service to the church and community and where they met many of their Ohio friends. She and Richard moved to Westerwood in April 2021, where she enjoyed a group of close friends and the social activities at the facility.
She is survived by her loving husband, Richard Schulz; children Mark Schulz and Lisa Wagner; grandson Bennett Wagner and step-grandchildren Ian and Annie Finnerty; and step-great grandchildren Maeve and Sofie Finnerty, as well as many relatives in the Lovegrove and Via families and numerous friends.
Barbara will be fondly remembered by those whose lives she touched for many things - her ability to make others laugh with her wit and sense of humor; her love of her church community; her passion for drawing, embroidery and colored pencil art; and watching shows and movies with her children and grandchildren.
A service will be held on Tuesday, May 10, 2022, from 4-6pm at Westerwood Assisted Living Community. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society’s Pancreatic Cancer Fund at https://www.cancer.org/cancer/pancreatic-cancer.html
