

Born on October 14, 1946 in Gardner, Massachusetts to John Francis Emmerling Sr. and Mary Alice Auth Emmerling. Chuck spent his early years in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania before his family moved to Salem, Ohio. He attended St. Paul Catholic School and graduated from Salem High School. He attended Kent State University before being drafted into the army, where he served in the 9th infantry division in Vietnam. At the end of his service to his country, he met his future wife, Rosemary and they were married in 1969.
He is survived by his loving wife, Rosemary Hibel Emmerling, children; Jacquelyn (Jeffrey) Davis, Brian (Lisa Castonguay) Emmerling, and Robert (Susan Morgan) Emmerling, grandchildren; Jack, Brennan and Aidan Davis, Kaitlin, Ava, and Grant Emmerling, Whitney, Grace and Gloria Emmerling, brothers; Thomas (Laura) Emmerling, and Ernest (Ann) Emmerling and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceded in death by his parents John Francis and Mary Alice Emmerling, brother, John Francis Emmerling Jr., sisters; Judith Emmerling Probert Palm, and Catherine (Dave) Emmerling August.
Chuck was a natural salesman and worked in industrial sales for Deming Co., Weinman Pump Co., and BJM Pumps. He was the proud owner of Emerson Pump Co.
Chuck loved sports and as a second job, he worked for three Ohio radio stations as a sports caster for high school games and also the Memorial Tournament. He served as an official scorer for the Clippers and a spotter for OSU football radio. He enjoyed watching football and basketball. His greatest joy was his family, and watching his own children and grandchildren in their events. He dearly loved family. Upon retirement Chuck enjoyed golf and winters in The Villages, Florida. He will always be remembered for his smile and sunny disposition. He loved to make jokes. He was blessed to have many friendships along the way.
Chuck was a member of St Paul Catholic Church. He served as a volunteer at St Ann’s Hospital. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army.

Family will receive friends Friday, February 2, 2024, from 5-7PM at SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON FUNERAL HOME, 6699 N. High St., with a funeral mass the following day, February 3, 2024, at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 313 N State St, at 10AM, with burial at Resurrection Cemetery.
