David “Dave” Robert Kreuzer, 85, of Westerville, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, May 24, 2025. Dave was born on December 21, 1939, in Columbus, Ohio, to Robert and Thelma Kreuzer. He graduated from St. Charles Preparatory School in 1957. After graduation, he went to work for his uncle, Marion Cautela, where he learned the trade of pouring and finishing concrete. In 1965, he founded his own concrete business, D-K Cement Contractors, Inc.
Dave was a hardworking, successful man who took great pride in running his company for over 40 years. He was grateful for his suppliers, loyal customers, and dedicated employees, many of whom became lifelong friends.
In 1961, Dave married his high school sweetheart, Rita DelGreco, and together they raised six children. They shared 64 years of loving marriage. A devoted Catholic, Dave was a longtime parishioner at St. Paul Church and was also active in many community, social, and charitable organizations over the years. He was a proud longtime member of the Abruzzi Club, where he served as president for two years, as well as the Knights of Columbus, the SFI, and the Linden N.E. Lions Club, where he also served as president.
Dave was an avid golfer. His absolute fondest memories were on the golf course with his family and good friends. His “heaven on earth” was Pinehurst. He was also a member of Little Turtle Country Club, where he played for several years. He enjoyed spending time outdoors: hunting, camping, and skiing. He also had a love for making and drinking wine, and sharing it with family and friends. As he would always say, “In wine there is wisdom!” He was a passionate Ohio State fan, especially proud to cheer on his youngest son when he played for the Buckeyes. Above all, he cherished time spent with his family and loved watching his children and grandchildren participate in their sports and activities.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Thelma Kreuzer; his in-laws, Egisto and Viola DelGreco; and his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Anita (Pat) Elkins, and Darlene Kreuzer; as well as daughter-in-law Carol Kreuzer.
Dave is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Rita Kreuzer; his brother, Lynn Kreuzer; his sister, Karen (Frank) Tiberi; his brother-in-law, Frank (Sue) DelGreco; his children: David, Robert (Nicole), Shelli Kreuzer Stumph, Brad (Amy), Jeff (Jennifer), and Dean (Rachel); grandchildren: Linsay (Nasir) Amin, Kiel Kreuzer, Alexa and Niko Kreuzer, Kaela, Justin (Catie) Stumph, Jordan Stumph, Jamie (Austin) Niswander, Daniel (Emily) Kreuzer, Jake, Talia, Ricci, Ava, Abby, Sam, and Cole Kreuzer; and great-grandchildren: Vera, Gray, and Benjamin David. Also, many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. He will be missed dearly by us all, including Rocco, his loyal dog and constant companion.
The family will receive friends from 4-8pm on Thursday, June 5 at Schoedinger Worthington. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30am Friday June 6, at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church.
The family would like to thank Care360 Hospice and Dave's care givers for their support.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution may be made to the BrightFocus Foundation for Macular Degeneration and Alzheimer’s Research.
