Errol Robert Kahoun, 75, passed away peacefully in Columbus Ohio, on Thursday, June 16, 2022. He was in the embracing love and company of his wife, Pamela and his two children, Craig Edward and Cory Thomas
Errol was born on June 7,1947, in Bedford Ohio. He was the third of four children (Edward, Eloise Bradford and Ernest) of Edward A and Elleanor Cvecko Kahoun. At the age of ten he and his family moved down to the Coshocton area. Growing up on a farm, Errol learned firsthand that you get out of life what you put into it. He carried a strong work ethic in everything he did. He played high school football and track at Three Rivers High School. Went onto receiving a scholarship in football at Miami University in Oxford Ohio under Bo Schembechler. In his senior year at Miami, he was drafted by the Denver Broncos. After receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Education in 1969 and marrying Pam, they ventured out to Colorado.
In 1971, Errol and Pam moved to Piqua, Ohio where he taught Industrial Arts and coached high school football up until 1973. He then focused on building construction and excavation where he would spend the rest of his career. This culminated in owning his own site utility company and in this, served his local community and supported a very grateful family.
Errol was a wonderful Husband, Father and Grandfather. His 6-foot-4-inch frame housed a big personality and heart who was always looking to liven up and feed the room. He never missed a meal and loved to find the out-of-the-way places to eat. He loved to cook, especially cooking the holiday dinner for the entire family. He had a sense of humor and you never knew what he was going to say. He doted on his family and was the happiest when every family member was in the same room. He was always present. He missed only a few of Craig and Cory’s lacrosse games in high school, collegiate and pro games.
Errol is survived by his wife, Pam Leech Kahoun of Columbus, Ohio and his two children Craig (Jenny Bodine, Grace, Bodie and Ruby) of Roanoke, Virginia and Cory (Kathi Keating, Jake and Audrey) of Worthington, Ohio, his sister Eloise (Fred Bradford, Freddie, Scott, Tony, and Daniel), brother Ernest (Elivia and Ethan) and sister-in-law Elaine (Leslie and Wendy). He was preceded in death by his Mother, Elleanor, Father, Edward A. and brother, Ed.
Earlier this year, Errol was diagnosed with late-stage amyloidosis, a rare progressive and infiltrative disease that can often be overlooked as a cause of heart failure. He will be truly missed.
The visiting hours will be held at the Schoedinger Funeral Home in Worthington, Ohio on July 30 from 1:00 to 4:00 pm. The Kahoun Family asks that in lieu of gifts or flowers, a donation be made to the Amyloidosis Foundation.
