Frank Jacobs III, beloved husband of Susan and devoted father of Parker and Daniel, passed away on February 25, 2025, just five days after his 65th birthday. His bright smile, quick laughter, and kind spirit made everyone he met feel like a lifelong friend.
Born in Akron, Ohio, Frank graduated from Cuyahoga Falls High School in 1979 before dedicating over twenty years of service to his country in the U.S. Navy. Serving both on active duty and as a reservist, he rose to the rank of Chief Petty Officer, sharing this journey with his brother, Steven. Frank served in Operation Desert Storm and was deployed during Operation Iraqi Freedom when his son Daniel was born. After retiring from the Navy, he built a successful career as a commercial construction project superintendent.
A passionate Ohio State Buckeyes fan, Frank especially enjoyed watching games with his in-laws, Clifton and Rosemary Parker. He found great joy on the golf course, whether playing with his extended family and friends, competing alongside his daughter, Parker, in her sorority’s father-daughter tournament, or sharing lighthearted rounds of mini-golf with his son, Daniel. He had a major sweet tooth and never missed his nightly chocolate, whether it was his wife Susan’s homemade chocolate chip cookies and brownies or a handful of Hershey’s Kisses. Frank was also deeply involved in his community and always ready to help a neighbor. In 2010 he was a proud Worshipful Master of Worthington, Ohio Masonic Lodge No. 563 F&AM.
Above all, Frank was the ultimate dad—fully engaged in every aspect of his children’s lives. He loved being Daniel’s Boy Scouts troop leader and painting detailed pinewood derby cars. From chauffeuring the kids to and from activities to constructing elaborate props for dance competitions, he was always there, ever willing to turn the car around for a forgotten shoe or headpiece.
He will be missed beyond measure by those who knew and loved him, most especially his family.
In lieu of flowers or contributions, the family requests honoring Frank's memory through kindness, good humor, and love for those close.
A visitation for Frank will be held Sunday, March 2, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Schoedinger Worthington, 6699 N High Street, Worthington, OH 43085.
