George Joseph Boser, 88, of Westerville, Ohio, passed away peacefully at his home on May 27, 2025. He was born on January 26, 1937, in Jersey City, New Jersey, to Edward and Portia “Bessie” Boser (née Venutolo). George proudly graduated from Fork Union Military Academy in 1955 and embarked on a fulfilling journey thereafter.
In 1959, he married MaryAnne (née Gauff) in Tenafly, New Jersey. Together, they raised a wonderful family with four children. George enjoyed a successful career as an executive in the computer industry. After retiring, he became a small business owner, operating a sign shop in Columbus, Ohio.
George was an enthusiastic sports lover and a lifelong fan of the New York Yankees. His passion for baseball extended beyond simply watching his favorite team; he also dedicated many years to coaching his sons' Little League teams. Additionally, he served as an assistant coach for the collegiate summer league team, the Columbus All-Americans. Alongside his love for baseball, George had a keen interest in racehorses. He even owned a racehorse, Lancer’s Way.
George was an excellent cook, particularly skilled in Italian cuisine. He made a fantastic eggplant parmesan and had a talent for selecting the perfect bottle of wine to complement any meal, especially if it was a wine he discovered during his travels. Additionally, he was an accomplished musician who entertained his children with his accordion playing, though it often annoyed his wife.
George had a passion for travel, especially for exploring Europe. Among all his travel destinations, Switzerland held a special place in his heart. He took great pleasure in meticulously planning each trip, often spending months creating detailed itineraries for these special trips with his wife.
George was known for his kindness and generosity. Over the years, he and MaryAnne opened their hearts and home to many friends and family members in need, making a significant difference in their lives.
In his spare time, he enjoyed playing pinocle with friends.
He is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife, MaryAnne, with whom he shared 65 years of marriage. He is also remembered by his sons, Peter (Susan), Kenneth (Susan), and Thomas, as well as his daughter, Jill (Charles) Kranstuber and beloved niece, Suzanne Bloomfield. He had twelve grandchildren: Matt, Ken Jr, Lauren, Mick, Jeremy, Carley, Olivia, Mackenzie, Sheldon, Evan, William, and George. Additionally, he had five great-grandchildren: Oliver, Brennan, Rinoa, Kinley, and Teagan. He was preceded in death by his brother, Edward.
