Gregory Nutter

Gregory “Greg” R Nutter, age 68 passed away on April 27, 2025 at Riverside Hospital surrounded by his family. He was born on June 29, 1956 in Youngstown, OH to Robert W Nutter and Nona F (Ford) Nutter.

Greg’s family moved to Granville, OH in 1962 where he attended Granville Elementary School, Middle School and graduated from Granville High School with the Class of 1974. After graduation, Greg spent a year as an exchange student in Belgium with the I.C.Y.E program. Upon returning from Belgium, he attended Denison University in Granville, OH and joined the Delta Chi Fraternity and graduated in 1980 with a degree in Art History.

After college he remained in the Granville area and became the proprietor of Gregory’s of Granville, a Gift Shop and Framing Business for many years. During this time, Greg also started his retail career in Management with Meijer where he retired after several years working in several store locations.

Greg enjoyed his life while living in Clintonville with Michael and their golden retrievers and was known for his love of Christmas by having several beautifully decorated Christmas Trees each year. He had a great passion for his community as well and became a Clintonville Area Commissioner for District 2 to be the “voice” of his neighborhood.

Family was very important to Greg and he loved and valued every relationship he had with each and every one in his family circle.

He is survived by his husband, Michael Ranney and their devoted golden retriever, Bailey; his father, Robert Nutter; his sister, Gail Betts (Mike) his aunt, Ann Bradburn (Gene); his uncle, Tom Nutter (Beverly) and several cousins. Greg was predeceased by his mother, Nona Nutter; his infant sister, Cora and his maternal and paternal grandparents and several aunts and uncles and cousins.

Greg’s memory will live on through the many lives he touched, and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him and loved him.

A private graveside service will be held with Greg’s family at Maple Grove Cemetery in Granville, OH.
