Janice Buzzelli

Janice Buzzelli, 89, of Columbus, passed away on September 11, 2025. She was born on January 23, 1936, in Pittsburgh, to the late George and Maude (Mayrose) Jarrett. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Buzzelli; sister, Jean Moody; brother, George William Jarrett Jr; two nephews, Joseph and Jay; two nieces, Jean and Jennifer; and one great-niece, Cassandra. The overwhelming passion in her life was her family, and she made wonderful memories with them during many trips to Walt Disney World; many everyday activities such as shopping at the mall, bowling, and eating her favorite donuts and candies; and attending nearly every event in her grandchildren’s lives. She (and Ray) were happiest when they were with their family.

Janice will be greatly missed by her children, Janice (Jim) Smith, Ralph (Cathy) Swackhammer, and James (Cathy) Swackhammer; grandchildren, Jim (Heidi) Smith, Lauren Jean (Ben) Smith-Domhoff, Zachary (Jessica) Smith, Alicia (Joe) Dunnabeck, Ralph Swackhammer III, Andrew (Annalisa) Smith, and Jamie Daisey; great-grandchildren, Patrick, Charlie, Ellie, Josie, Lily, Frankie, Abigail, and Cami; sister, Judy (Roger) Capretta; the loving friends and staff at Claremont Retirement Village; and numerous extended family and close family friends.

A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, September 21, 2025, at 1:30pm, at the Schoedinger Worthington Funeral Home, 6699 North High St., Worthington OH, 43085.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or Make-A-Wish Foundation.
