John Richard Meyer

John Meyer, 74, of Columbus, passed away on March 7, 2025. He was born on June 17, 1950, in Delaware Ohio, to the late Robert and Bette (Eckert) Meyer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Robert “Paul” Meyer.

John enjoyed a wide variety of interests and hobbies. He enjoyed supporting his grandchildren’s sporting events and hobbies! Don’t forget his beloved OSU buckeye football and basketball games as well. Everyday you could find John working out with his PD friends and walking Baxter around the neighborhood. John enjoyed golfing and getting his annual golf outing organized with his OSU friends. He also thoroughly loved his yearly trips to Hilton Head with College of Wooster friends, family and grandchildren. John also enjoyed spending time with all his friends in his life across the US for trips and events.

John attended and graduated from College of Wooster with a degree in Political Science in 1972. He attended University of Virginia for his MBA and got homesick and returned to Ohio to complete his MBA at Kent State University.

John had a passion for educational fundraising; working with various colleges and universities. He spent the majority of his career at The Ohio State University for almost 32 years. John will be greatly missed by his loving wife, Vicki; children, Lauren Meyer and Jeffrey (Lisa) Meyer; grandchildren, Maddy Miles and Jacob and Lucas Meyer; brother, Tim (Patty) Meyer; sister-in-law, Becky (Michael) Davisson; mother-in-law, Elizabeth “Jo” France; and numerous extended family and close family friends.

A visitation for John will be held Sunday, March 16, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Schoedinger Worthington, 6699 N High Street, Worthington, OH 43085.
