Born May 25, 1936, in Akron, Ohio, to Russell and Lucille Keller, she attended Butler High School in Vandalia, Ohio, where she met the love of her life, whom she later married, and graduated from Bay High School in Bay Village, Ohio. Joyce went on to attend and graduate from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and was a proud lifelong member of Delta Gamma Fraternity as well as a lifelong Buckeye fan. She moved from Delaware, Ohio, to Worthington Hills in 1965, where she lived and raised her family for 60 years and was an active member of the community as a Girl Scout leader, chartering the Worthington Hills swim team, and serving as a swim parent for many years. A dedicated nurse who served as a Head Nurse at Riverside Hospital in Columbus, she spent her career caring for others with compassion and skill. Joyce was an avid tennis player, snow skier, and water skier. She and her family were fixtures in the Apple Valley, Ohio, water ski community for over 47 years, and she skied well into her 80s.
Joyce was the beloved wife of David E. Huff, who preceded her in death, along with her parents. She is survived by her sisters, Jan Patterson and Kathy Freshwater; her children, David D. Huff, Russell Huff, Michael Huff, and Laurie Karr; her grandchildren, Cody Huff, Ashley Williams, Makenzie Karr, Jeremy Karr, and Sam Delfino; five nieces and nephews; and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on November 14, 2025, at Schoedinger Worthington, 6699 N. High Street, Worthington, Ohio, followed by a Memorial Service at 2:00 p.m. As Joyce was a breast cancer survivor, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
Joyce’s gentle spirit and quick wit will be deeply missed by all who knew her. In fact, she would have this to say about this whole memorial business: "That's ridiculous."
At the family’s request, please add your favorite photograph of Joyce to her webpage.
