Kathy Bailey

On Thursday, February 9th, Kathy Bailey passed away at the age of 82. Born December 26th, 1940 - Kathy is the oldest of 3 children and only daughter born to Ruth & Walter Handwerk of Orrville, Ohio. Her brothers, Steve & Dave, remain local residents to this day. Kathy is survived by her children, Todd(wife Melissa), Tim(wife Cathy) & Heather(husband Colon), whom she shared with former spouse Jim Bailey. Kathy was blessed to have 9 grandchildren (Lauren, Chelsea, Scott, Stephanie, Sara, Jack, Leah, Cameron & Olivia) and 5 great-grandchildren (Jamie, Oakley, Colt, Marley and Dakota) all who she dearly loved.

Kathy loved people. Whether sharing a hospital room post-surgery or standing in line at the grocery store, she could strike up conversations with strangers that sometimes resulted in lifelong friendships. Her kindness was genuine and her desire to laugh, mostly at herself, was contagious. She valued simple times spent with family and friends, often reminiscing about fond childhood memories. She enjoyed following the Browns and Indians, on most occasions, knowing it built character in doing so! Kathy was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, and friend to many. Most notably she was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ. May she bask in the Glory of His presence for all eternity, with no more pain, no more illness. Rest in peace, dear Kathy!

The family will hold a private gathering to remember Kathy. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to one of the following organizations.
