Robert R. (Bob) Jordan, age 96, passed away Tuesday, November 7, 2022. He was born on November 7, 1926 in Columbus Ohio to the late Ray and Ethel Jordan. Bob is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Monell Jordan, daughters Michele (Tom) Erlenwein, Sharon (Mike) Beals, Grandchildren; Scott (Danielle) Erlenwein, Jordan Beals (Jeff Daneman), Kelsey (Josh) McGee; Great Grandchildren; Charlotte, Sophia, and Jackson McGee and Wesley Erlenwein. Also survived by Sister-in-Law Patsy Mills, and numerous nieces and nephews. Along with other dear family and friends, and in addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by Brother, Albert Jordan and Sister, Lucille Jordan (Blattner).
Bob was born in 1926 in Columbus, Ohio shortly before the great depression. He grew-up in an area of Columbus known as Fly Town. Coming from hard-scrabble beginnings, Bob managed to enjoy a successful career in the Columbus Ohio construction industry starting as a trades-person, then as Business Agent for his local trade union (Columbus Ohio Plasterers and Cement Masons). Additionally, Bob was elected, and served as President of the Columbus Central Ohio Building Trades Council. He officially retired in 1992, but after retirement continued to work part-time until the age of 90 as Zoning Inspector for the Village of Buckeye Lake.
Bob loved living at Buckeye Lake where he enjoyed fishing, boating, and simply making great memories with family and friends. He was also an avid Buckeye fan, with Buckeye football holding a special place in his heart. You could find him at the Horseshoe on home-game football Saturdays well into his eighties. He could be called a Buckeye fanatic, he refused to call the team up-north by name, and he loved Woody Hayes.
More than lake life, boating and fishing, and even more than the Buckeyes, Bob loved his family. He loved his wife and his daughters dearly, and he loved his son-in-laws as if they were his own. And there was nothing that made him happier than all of his Grandchildren.
