Steven L. Swing

Steven Leroy Swing of Lewis Center, OH went home to be with his Lord and Savior on February 15, 2025. He was born on November 6, 1965 to Norman and Lois Swing in Woodburn, Indiana. He was a graduate of Woodlan High school in Woodburn, Indiana in 1984 and Taylor University in Upland, Indiana in 1988 with a major in computer sciences.

Steve married Doris Fluke on June 2, 1990 in Winona Lake, Indiana and they were blessed with a son and daughter and celebrated 34 years of marriage. Steve moved his family to Columbus, Ohio in 1996, where he worked for numerous companies as a software engineer.

Steve loved to sing in choirs, musicals, and his college quartet. He had a wonderful voice, that’s what attracted Doris to him. He used his voice in his worship to God as a long-standing member of the choir at Grace Polaris Church. Steve would constantly think of ways to use his dad jokes and dry humor to entertain anyone around him. He was ready and willing to act as tech support for anyone who asked for his help. He enjoyed tinkering with technology and writing code for his own projects in his spare time. Steve could be found behind the grill or smoker most Sunday afternoons. He always had helping hands ready for household projects for Doris and his kids, especially painting. He was always there for his family; he never missed a choir concert, musical, track, or cross country meet.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Doris Swing (Lewis Center, OH); son, Adam (Dublin, OH); daughter, Aryn (Steve) Meyer (Cincinnati, OH); brother, Lynn Swing (Woodburn, IN) and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be held on Monday, February 24, 2025, from 4pm until 6pm, at the Schoedinger Worthington Funeral Home, 6699 North High St., Worthington OH, 43085. A Private Graveside will be held. A Memorial Service will be on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at 2pm, at Grace Polaris Church, 8225 Worthington Galena Road, Westerville OH, 43081.
