What can I say about Wayne know Millie since 1972 and Wayne right after they got married . They use to visit us in California and Ky. and when I got my divorce they both took me in for awhile to help out just the kind of folks they are . Millie we are 770-213-8963 call us and let us know how you are  sis !

When I met Wayne we were students at OSU. I fell over when he told me he lived nextdoor to me,! Wayne and his roomies often entertained my daughter. Wayne. Was the sweetest guy I ever met and it was nice introducing him to friends.
He ended up working for my dad after college...we all loved Wayne. He was a generous person, often inviting me to come along to dinner with he and Milly
I don't think I know of any couple better matched than Wayne and Milly. She is hurting deeply. Wayne passed on my daughter's birthday...Katie.

Dad was the best role model, teacher, coach, cheerleader, and father I could ever imagine. I really admired his work ethic and the way he genuinely cared about people.  He had words of wisdom or encouragement for just about any situation I was in.  I will miss him tremendously, and think of him always. 

Wayne loved spending time with his lovely daughters and his one and only granddaughter. 

When he was not quite 2 years old, Wayne won a "cutest baby contest”.   The corner grocery store, about the size of a 7/11, posted pictures of 6 or 7 babies.  Customers were asked to vote by placing their grocery receipts in a bag, writing the number of the baby’s picture on the back. At the end of the week the baby with the most dollar volume of votes was the winner.  Not that it would have been necessary, our grandmother Asmus shopped every day that week and while in the store made sure her lady friends knew who to vote for.

Bob was ending third grade and was ”invited” by his teacher, a nun, to help her clean the classroom on a Saturday morning. Wayne asked to come along and help.  At the end of cleaning the good sister gave both Bob and Wayne some candy, at which time Wayne said “you’re not such a grouch”.
Sister asked who said she was a grouch.  Wayne answered, “Bobby did”.

Shortly after I came home from the Seminary, Wayne was 11 years old. One day I asked him “you don’t swear, do you”?   Wayne gave me his famous sly grin and said “no, but I know all the words”.

Wayne was the best brother I could have imagined.

I want to say that words can not describe or cover how wonderful the man I was married to for 46 years was. He was nice and friendly to everyone he worked with and whoever he encountered. He loved his family, his children, his grandchildren, his brothers and sisters and was always around to help and take care of them. Wayne’s positive attitude helped all of us overcome problems. His legacy is the love, kindness and help he gave to all of us, including his friends. We miss animals and he will always be in our hearts with love…
Milly Asmus 

Milly, we are all so lucky to have known and loved such a fine individual. I worked with Wayne in commercial real estate for approximately 20 years. I never once heard him raise his voice or say one bad thing about another person, ever. That is remarkable and very few of us can say we know someone that special.
I will sure miss his constant smile and witty sense of humor.

I had the privilege of working with Wayne for nearly ten years. From the first day I met Wayne, he made me feel welcome with his  warm smile and funny stories. His  positive outlook on life was infectious! He always took the time to learn about everyone and their lives; he truly cared. He was so generous and selfless!  I will miss him dearly. 

The first time we met Wayne (& Milly!) was in Lansing Michigan, at Lisa’s MSU Law School graduation.  Our son, Justin Gray also graduated that day. 
Little did we know that we would become In-Laws together and Grandparents together.

Wayne was a great friend, sales associate and I love him like a brother.  We worked together over 47 years in real estate.  He was always a positive and honest person with everyone who knew him.  Later in life, he spoke to Jeff & I about keeping a positive attitude, which continued until the last time we saw him.  He was a great person and respected by all on our team at Rj Boll.  We will always miss him.

Wayne was not only a great brother to me, but also a good buddy. When we were young, we always did things together. We played baseball almost daily in the summer. OH yeah, Wayne was full of mischief in those days.  His charm mostly kept him out of trouble. As an adult always was supportive and positive.  He always called on birthdays and even wedding anniversaries.  If Wayne did not hear from you for a week, you got a call asking  how are you. Great memories going to pay football games with waynee.  Someti!mes I would keep him company as he parked cars before games.  What really impressed me on.those days was how his apartment tenants related to him.  I was obvious how much they liked him as person and landlord.  Wayne's twinkling eyes and mega watt smile w now what I remember about my dear ,wonderful brother 

I have had the privilege of knowing Wayne and Milly for several years. They were always up for a trip to Dayton for prime rib or in this case, to join us in Palm Springs for a few days. We always had lots of laugh and there may have been a little alcohol involved from time to time. We miss you and your infectious smile and positive attitude. 

What a sense of humor Wayne Had! He had nicknames for just about everyone Wayne knew,  especially for his siblings. They were always made in jest and never hurtful.  He christened me with Chop or Chopper when I was around 8 years old and most people knew me by that and rarely was my real name called all the way through high school. It was a name that I loved to be called. My favorite nickname that Wayne coined was for brother Bob whom he nicknamed Fred. For many years   Bob was Fred. It seams funny that we couldn't find a nickname for Wayne, but the only one that I have always cherished is the name BROTHER!! I miss you Brother! Thanks for all the memories!

Uncle Wayne was loved by so many people! He made everyone’s life brighter just by being a part of it. When I was very little I used to get confused about how my Uncle Wayne could look so much like my own dad. I am so sad that he is gone and I know how much everyone will miss his sparkle in their lives.

The world lost an amazing human being with the passing of my Uncle Wayne. I was fortunate to have him be a part of my life as he was my dad's younger brother.  When I was very young he would babysit me and he was my favorite babysitter. He took me for ice cream or slushies and played fun games with me. Every year he would call me on my birthday to catch up. He never ever forgot.  I loved talking about Ohio State football and Cleveland Indians baseball with him. Sending love and prayers to Aunt Milly, Amy and Lisa during this sad and challenging time.  Love to you all.

I consider myself extremely lucky that Wayne called me his friend.  Wayne had a genuine  way about him which was welcoming and invited everyone in.  He had a killer smile which he flashed whenever I saw him.   The joy of his life was his family and friends.  He will be missed but his kindness and spirit will remain with us all.  We will meet again my friend to laugh, share a meal and just hang out.  





Our hearts are broken for all of you.
Wayne and I shared an Anthropology class at OSU, where I discovered he lived next door to me in my Dad's apartment building. He became a good friend and he and his roomies provided all kinds of entertainment for my young daughter.
After graduation he worked for my Dad's food brokerage and his apartment business. Milly and I had our daughters 6 weeks apart and we often got together as the girls grew up. Wayne was the kindest, sweetest guy I ever knew, and my daughter Erin considered him a 2nd Dad.
He will be missed by both of us. Deepest sympathy, ladies, we love you.

Wayne was an amazing father, husband, and papa. You could see how he loved his family in his eyes. Those grandchildren made him sparkle. So very sorry for your loss of such a special man. Love and prayers to the entire family from the Michael Gray family.

I will never forget the first time that I met Wayne. I was in my last year at Ohio State and was playing poker with my roommates and friends at one of our routine games. Wayne was a classmate and friend of my younger brother, Bill, who was also a student at OSU. Bill introduced Wayne to us, who promptly asked if he could join our card game. It did not take us long to realize that Wayne was an excellent poker player and before long Wayne became a regular member in our group. From that initial card game introduction Wayne and I became lifelong friends.
Wayne was always such a positive person. He was friendly and outgoing and had something nice to say to everyone. I will miss him greatly. 

Wayne was a cherished friend for 53 years, since our days at OSU, and the consummate business partner for nearly 45 of those years. He was the most optimistic person that I knew. He always told me to make lemonade if I got a lemon. He was always looking to see what he could do to help anyone he encountered.
RIP, Wayne.
