

William Graban passed away peacefully on July 20, 2025 surrounded by family. Born in Youngstown, Ohio to George and Anna Graban, Bill was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and teacher who valued family and learning.
Bill graduated from Campbell Memorial High School and earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Youngstown State University. He spent his career in education, working as a science teacher, assistant principal, and assistant superintendent in the Canfield, Hubbard, and Rolling Hills school districts. He was respected for his knowledge and steadfast support of students.
Family was central to Bill’s life. He valued time spent with his children and grandchildren, and he helped carry on family traditions that brought everyone together. He had many passions including gardening, woodworking, music and skiing, but nothing filled his life with more joy than being surrounded by the ones he loved.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Neva (Rudolph) Graban, and siblings Sandra Whiteard and Dennis Graban, and survived by his children: Matthew Graban and wife Miki (Durdle) Graban; Sarah (Graban) Schwartz and husband Wade Schwartz; and Rachel (Graban) Caviness and husband Lane Caviness. He was a proud grandfather to Luke, Anna Kate, Madeline, Samuel, Lily, Jacob, and Neva. He is also survived by his sisters, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Claudia (Graban) Moore, Jennifer (Waldron) Graban, Joanna (Graban) Farragher and husband George Farragher, June Graban, and Margaret (Rudolph) Larson and husband Dave Larson.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at Schoedinger Worthington, 6699 N. High Street, Worthington, Ohio 43085. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m., followed by a Panikhida memorial service at noon, and a reception beginning at 1:30 p.m. at Worthington Hills Country Club, 920 Clubview Blvd S., Columbus, OH 43235. Bill will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his legacy of love, tradition and learning will live on in the hearts of his family and the countless lives he touched.
