Wilma Mowery Smith

Wilma Mowery Smith went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 22, 2022. Wilma was born in Columbus, Ohio on July 23, 1933 to the late Wilbur and Odessa Mowery. Wilma is survived by her daughters, Nila Smith and Renee (Roderick) Jones; grandchildren, Jonna Smith, Rico Paige, Riane Paige and a host of many other relatives and friends. Wilma was a faithful member of New Jerusalem M.B.C. She was a graduate from Central Night School in 1954, and retired from Lucent Technologies after 30 dedicated years of service. Her hobbies included baking and gardening. Over the years Wilma owned, loved, and cared for many pets. You could often find Wilma driving around the neighborhood daily to socialize and give out treats to local pups.

Visitation is at 10:00 a.m. followed by a home going service at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 4, 2022 at Schoedinger Funeral Home, 6699 N. High Street, Worthington, OH 43085. Interment will follow at Kingwood Memorial Park, 8230 Columbus Pike, Lewis Center, Ohio. For everyone's safety we ask that you wear a mask while inside the facility. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Columbus Humane Society or support cancer research through Pelotonia fund #313084 and indicate it is a memorial gift on behalf of Wilma M. Smith.
