

Billie Donne Longmire was born in Franklin, Kansas, on January 27, 1932, and passed away peacefully in Yakima, Washington, on January 16, 2026. Billie was the cherished daughter of Hallie M. (Kuplen) Lowe and William R. Lowe, and grew up with her brothers, Richard L. Lowe (deceased) and Robert S. Lowe.
A graduate of St. Joseph Academy in Yakima, class of 1949, Billie married James R. Longmire, a veteran of the Korean War, on July 4, 1953. Together, they built a loving family and a life filled with devotion and kindness.
For over 50 years, she worked in the nursery industry as a bookkeeper and office manager for May Nursery and Willow Drive Nursery.
Billie also had a special talent for decorating, creating beautiful and inviting spaces that reflected her creativity and care. Her life was enriched by her passion for gardening, where she found joy and tranquility among her flowers and plants. She loved socializing with friends, always welcoming others with a smile and a listening ear.
She is survived by her children, Jill (Longmire) Ehlers and husband Steve and James (Jim) Longmire and wife Sharon; her grandchildren, William, Jake, Clay, and Nick; and her great-grandchildren, Aubree, Gage, Eleanor, Caeden, and Emmalyn; and great-great grandson, Grayson.
Billie’s legacy is one of love, strength, and unwavering dedication to her family. She will be deeply missed by all who loved her, and her memory will live on in the gardens she tended, the gatherings she cherished, and the homes she made beautiful.
