Clara Yeager passed away Monday morning May 30th 2023 due to complications from Alzheimer’s disease. She was born October 27, 1935 in Julietta, Idaho to Cecil and Verl Woods. She graduated from Sunnyside high school. She married Silas Edgar Yeager Jr. October 16, 1954 in Portland, Oregon and had two sons, Tom (Linda) Yeager and Guy Yeager.
She worked in the PX while her husband was stationed at Camp Pendleton and was primarily busy raising two rowdy boys once they arrived. When we got older mom started her working career and retired as the business manager from Mt. Adams School District January 31, 2001.
Mom traveled the world on cruises and trips with friends and family. A trip to Israel with her niece Barbara being one of the most memorable. She was an avid walker and participated in organized Volkswalks in every state of the US. She also enjoyed the winters cross country skiing.
She is survived by her children, a sister Cecelia Achatz and brother John Woods, seven grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, and one great great granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Roberta Michaels, Estel Van Winkle and brother Charles Woods.
A memorial service will be at Yakima Trinity Nazarene, 2801 Englewood Ave, Yakima, WA 98902, ON June 10, 2023 at 11:00 AM. A luncheon will follow.
