

Costa R. Perez, 91, passed away peacefully on May 5, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Born on March 11, 1935, in Hardin, Montana to Nicholas and Cecilia Perez, Costa later moved with his family to Wapato, WA., where he built a life centered on family, friendship, and community.
Costa was known for his big heart, quick wit, and wonderful sense of humor. He loved spending time with family and friends, especially while camping and fishing. He attended Wapato High School, where he enjoyed playing softball and basketball. He was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church.
Throughout his life, Costa worked a variety of jobs, including with Mobile Fleet Service in the building maintenance department. He remained hardworking and dedicated throughout his career and retired at the age of 82.
Costa met the love of his life, Dolores McGovern, during a hayride in Toppenish, WA. The two were married on July 7, 1954, and shared many wonderful years together while raising their six children.
He was a devoted fan of the Seattle Mariners, Seattle Seahawks, and Golden State Warriors.
Costa is survived by his children Connie Perez, Cindy Perez, Greg Perez, Lisa McGraw, and Lori Perez; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three sisters; and one brother.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Dolores Perez; his son, Nicholas Perez; granddaughter Anissa Jones; and grandson Jered Hiebert. Brothers Steve Perez and Jesse Perez.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to colorectal cancer awareness organizations or the Yakima Humane Society.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Lyzanchuk, Dr. Ortiz, Dr. Ho, Dr. Cox, Katherine Waitman NP, the Heart Institute at the University of Washington in Montlake, WA and to Heartlinks Hospice for their compassionate care and support.
Visitation will be on Friday, May 15th from 4:00pm to 8:00pm with a Rosary at 6:30pm at Langevin El Paraiso Funeral Home - 1010 W Yakima Avenue, Yakima, WA.
Funeral Service will be Saturday, May 16th at 9:00am at St.Paul Cathedral - 15 S. 12th Avenue, Yakima, WA 98902. Following with a Graveside Service at Calvary Cemetery - 1405 S 24th Avenue, Yakima WA 98902.
