Michelle ~ I know it's 2022, but I just heard that you lost your mother in 2013. 
Both of your parents played such an incredible role in my life. I still hold Elwood is one of the best male role models I've ever known. Your mother had such a pizzazz for life, and faith, elegance, grace, and beauty -  inside and the outside.
I learned so much from her, about faith, prayer, womanhood… Yes, I still giggle when I explained that I went through image of loveliness classes. 
 There  was so much that I learned that helped me build a confidence that I did not have.
Elwood & Cindy always made sure that my mom and I were included in Sunday meals at our favorite restaurants.  ❤️
However, The biggest and most important, is deeper than words can explain.
I used to run home from school to keep from getting beat up. On days that I noticed that the bullies didn't follow me I'd come home to find your Cindy, Ruth and my mom in the front room praying.
I used to run around to the back door to avoid being put in the "hot seat" . 
Your mom was too quick! Lol!! That finger pointing me to that chair…
her ability to pray in earnest faith, and hear, was mysterious at first until time went by and then I began to find strength in the message from God, and appreciate the messenger more.
As of late, I realized that God gives us something, information, not so much for that time but for the future.
 I am so thankful for the people God has placed in my life at different times.

Michelle - We were sorry to miss Cindy's memorial service.  We had out of state relatives here.  We loved & enjoyed Cindy so much; she was an inspiration, an "upper" through the years we knew her.  May you experience great comfort & peace.

Cynthia, was a woman of God that, was to accomplish his purpose. I    remember several years ago when Elwood passed, the way God used her to make a impact on my life. Cynthia felt led and  prompted to offer a "impromptu" altar call just before the memorial service concluded. She looked at me and said do not grieve, "Rejoice" for he has gone home. This statement to a not quite  middle aged man, made a major impact on my life, that Now when I attend a   memorial service I keep in mind to not  grieve for the person who passed but rejoice because they have gone home. Thank you Cynthia for being a women of God who listened to  and acted on the Holy Spirit's prompting.

Cindi brought the love of GOD and great joy to all who knew her.

A phone call from Ken Norton let me know about Leveda's passing.  I wanted to leave a note from the original Oklahoma Carl and Lois (Norton) Freeman family.  There are many fond memories we share with our semi-annual trips to Washington and Oregon.  Included in those memories that are still so vivid today are the times of visiting, sharing and spending time with family that was so far away.  It was special.  My brother, Dwight and his wife Kandy live in Monte Vista, Colorado and I am in Jenks, Oklahoma.  My father, Carl, resides in Enid, Oklahoma in a retirement community.  He is now 95 1/2 years old in pretty good shape.  Both Dwight and I remember with fondness the laughs and love of all the Norton side of the family.  We remember Elwood's pizza, the house, the kitchen and both Elwood and Leveda's outgoing personalities.  Our thoughts are with you and we send our hugs.

A wonderful woman of God.  A great inspiration to our whole family.  Heaven just expanded to fit the mansion He made for her (He means what he says), and she only wanted a small room.
